The man, the myth, the legend, Jim Cramer has made his pick and it’s a game-changer! On the Feb. 6 edition of ’Squawk on The Street’, when asked to choose between Tesla and Ford, Jim Cramer shocked everyone by going with the electric car giant, Tesla! And let me tell you, this isn’t just a wild guess, it’s based on some solid facts. Tesla just posted a blow-out earnings report, with CEO Elon Musk saying that orders are through the roof and nearly double the rate of production. And here’s the cherry on top – legendary investor Ron Baron is reportedly going to come in and say that TSLA is worth $1,000 a share! Can you even imagine?! On the other hand, Ford has been making strides in the EV space too, but they’re no match for Tesla’s momentum right now. With the competition heating up, Tesla and Ford have been duking it out, with Tesla cutting prices by up to 20% and then reversing course and raising prices by 2-3% just last week.
And speaking of Ron Baron, he’s been a big fan of Elon Musk and Tesla for years now. He invested $100 million in Twitter during Elon’s takeover and he says he’s been promised to make two to three times his money back. And let’s not forget, Elon has a massive public reach with over 128 million followers on Twitter. Ron says, ”Everyone else spends $1,000 to market a car. He spends nothing, because everyone knows Twitter.” That’s the power of Elon’s brand and his marketing skills!
Despite TSLA shares being down 35% in the past year, Ron Baron remains optimistic and has been a Tesla investor for almost a decade now, with a combined stake of around $4 billion. He believes that Tesla will eventually soar to a whopping $4.5 trillion valuation, a 625% increase from its current market cap of $623 billion. Folks, the future is electric and Jim Cramer and Ron Baron are all-in on Tesla!”
